The McQueen-1 is modeled after the renowned antique motorcycle scrambler style that features a sleek aerodynamic look, laced wheels, matching front and rear knobby tires for rough terrain, narrow turned-down handlebars, minimum capotage and no fenders.
The only original OEM parts on this motorcycle are the frame, drivetrain and fuel tank.

For better handling in terrain, the suspension was upgraded for a slightly taller stance and softer damping. The front brake got a custom-drilled rotor for better cooling and efficiency.

As for the name of this project, we thought back to the times of the famous movie the Great Escape with Steve McQueen riding around on a German army motorcycle and performing his own stunts and we thought that this project could be built as an homage to Steve McQueen and his racing career.

The sleek profile of the McQueen-1 scrambler gives it the ability to navigate tight spots and squeeze through clearings where a regular full-size motorcycle would not fit. With its tucked-in mirrors, the width of the handlebars is minimized.
An LED headlight adds a modern twist to the antique look and also offers integrated turn signals. This eliminates the risk of damaging external turn signals that could result from collisions with terrain, brush and other obstacles.
Topped with a modern digital speedometer, odometer and tachometer, the contrast of modern versus antique is stunning.

The dark header wrap and blacked-out muffler paint were purposefully chosen so as not to draw attention away from the natural look of the finely aged metals. The 2-into-1 exhaust was custom designed and built to fit this particular project. Straight-through muffler design gives the exhaust a nice tone.
Air is supplied to the motor via single-pod style air cleaners attached to each carburetor.
Instead of a painted tank, the McQueen-1 features a sanded-down and slightly rusted look, called "patina".

In the spirit of the antique motorcycle scrambler style, the McQueen-1 is equipped with only one seat for a single rider and has been stripped of any unnecessary items to reduce weight and improve handling, especially in terrain.
The locking seat hides a battery box underneath with a key-fob operated ignition switch and a power distribution hub.

On the very back of the seat are modern LED tail lights that combine the functions of park lamps, brake lights and turn signals, finished with a useful grab handle for easier manipulation of the machine, especially in case of droppage.
The street-legal aggressive knobby tires provide for a good grip in terrain, allowing this motorcycle the luxury of traveling on all sorts of surfaces.
